Welcome to the Augusta State University Continuing Education Division (ASU-CE). ASU is a 4-year liberal arts university located in Augusta GA. ASU-CE offers non-credit certificate programs, seminars, and short courses both on campus and online. Our mission is to extend the resources of ASU to promote lifelong learning in Augusta, our region, the state of Georgia, and beyond. Our non-credit classes are open to all adults, regardless of educational background (unless otherwise noted).

FAQ

Where do I get books or supplies for a course?
If you are planning to take an online class, check the course description for a list of required textbooks and/or software. There will be a link to a web site or a toll-free number listed to obtain the materials. Alternately, you can always order these items through the ASU Bookstore.

What is a CEU?

A CEU (continuing education unit) is a nationally recognized unit of credit for recording satisfactory completion of many Continuing Education classes. One CEU represents 10 contact hours of instruction. ASU Continuing Education maintains permanent records of an individual's CEU credits. Transcripts are available upon written request.

What is a PLU?

A PLU (professional learning unit) is a unit of credit for recording satisfactory completion of Continuing Education classes approved by the GA PSC (Georgia Professional Standards Commission) for teacher certification/recertification. One PLU represents 10 contact hours of instruction, rounded off. ASU Continuing Education maintains permanent records of an individual's PLU credits. Transcripts are available upon written request.

Office Hours

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. After Hours registration is only available online.
