July 2009
We are pleased to report that the Worldwide Education Symposium 2009 in Atlanta
was a big hit! At the conference, we announced the release of a new navigation portal,
the Military Community Education and Career Compass (MCCompass) at www.MCCompass.net. A magnetic compass is a navigational
instrument that is used to determine and indicate direction. MCCompass achieves
this goal in the military education and career arenas, to help users navigate their
way to a degree, financial aid, and ultimately a job when they transition to civilian
life. To learn more about this portal, please visit the website. You can also download
the information brochure using the link provided in the blue box above the news
items on this page.
Also, we are pleased to announce that is announcing a joint / Institution
scholarship. For every institution that joins or renews their annual commitment
in Academic Explorer with their full range of certificate and degree programs
before September 30, 2009, will create a $1,000 named scholarship
in recognition of the institution. The scholarship is to be awarded to a student
attending their institution during the 2009-2010 school year. The institution and
will jointly determine the awardee. We will work to finalize all of the details
by September, 2009. For additional information, please contact us at:

March 2009
is pleased to announce that we have developed and launched the new Council of
College and Military Educators (CCME) website at www.ccmeonline.org on a pro bono
basis as a courtesy to CCME and the Military Education Community. As a strong supporter
and friend of CCME and its mission, we are pleased to support the Military Education
Community with our services in developing and maintaining the CCME website. We are
also pleased to announce the new CCME Virtual Exhibition Floor (or VeX) on the website.
VeX is an innovative tool developed to highlight the Sponsors and Exhibitors of
the 2009 CCME Symposium held in Hawaii in January 2009. VeX not only allows visitors
the opportunity to learn about these entities during the conference, but because
of VeX's online, perpetual design, also enables visitors to learn about these Sponsors
and Exhibitors year-round. CCME is proud to utilize this revolutionary technology
for increasing and enhancing the services available to the military community. |
January 2009
We traveled to Honolulu, HI to attend the 2009 CCME Symposium. Academic Explorer
( ) and Scholarship & Financial
Aid Explorer (SFeX) were both very well received and we made contact
with several dozen new institutions, as well as counselors from all of the service
branches. Additionally, we presented SFeX at a concurrent session to provide
attendees with an update on the website and how it is integrated in with
to do joint searches for certificate and degree programs, side-by-side with matching
scholarship and financial aid opprotunities. We continue to get feedback and scholarships
to post on a weekly basis and are now over the 300 scholarship plateau with almost
200 current, active scholarships available for the military community and their
families. |
