The mission of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and Western Recruiting Region Lifelong Learning Education Center is to provide personal and professional learning opportunities to the Marine Corps community. We offer a broad range of educational opportunities based on the needs of our Marines, Sailors, and Coast Guard personnel which includes: active duty personnel, veterans, reservists, family members, and eligible DoD civilian employees.
Here are some Success Stories relating to our new platforms...
What Our Marines Say
Aex made it easier for me to start school. After my visit to MCRD lifelong learning center, I went to the Aex website and found a school that offers online program, pays for my books, and also grants maximum credit for my military trainings. I went through the whole process in less than a day. Thanks MCRD-LLC and Kudos to Marine Corps for providing Aex.
I saw Aex flyer posted on the library bulletin board, I went through the site and found information about my next duty station (Okinawa, Japan), colleges onbase, and other great info. I plan to continue on with my education during my 3-yr tour in Japan. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant
What Our Counselors Say
A month ago, Marine SSgt visited our office inquiring about online business degree program. I browse the Aex website and within 15 minutes we were able to find the school that meets his specific needs. He was amazed on how fast I got the information. I discussed the TA policy and advised him to contact the school. After two days he came back with his TA, signed-up for a class with the school.
What Others Have To Say
Marine's wife called Education Center and requested info about graduate school and financial aid programs available to military and their family members. She was excited when I mentioned to her that Aex (academic explorer) can provide a lot of this information. I gave her the Aex website and discuss other benefits over the phone and via e-mail.
